Sauti ya Wanawake Matuga

    Sauti ya Wanawake, Matuga chapter is a women led community- based organization with a membership of 15 women. The organization works to promote the participation and inclusion of women in peace structures in Kwale county.

    Since 2019, Sauti ya Wanawake, Matuga has led the Mwanamke Mezani and Kiongozi Jasiri campaigns that has challenged the stereotypes that Women cannot take leadership positions in the community, “Mchetu Kawaeza Kuongoza, Mchetu Kwake ni Dzikoni”

    The organization has reached out 350+ women, advocating for the inclusion of 15 women in

    Nawiri CBO

      Nawiri is a women and youth led organization focusing on sustainable development goals and social justice. Nawiri aims to support communities make contributions to peace and sustainable development in line with Kenya’s vision 2030 blueprint and the 2010 constitution.

      Nawiri is working to Break the Chains of violence against women and girls. The organization is doing this through dismantling cultural beliefs and practices that advance sexual and gender-based violence. Whilst also, strengthening local referral pathways that advance access to justice to victims of sexual and gender-based violence.

      Grassroots Women Rights Centre

        Grassroots women right centre (GWRC) is a community-based organization working to promote peace, security and resilience in Lunga Lunga sub-county.

        Due to the nature of the porous borders, along the Lunga Lunga channel, GWRC is amplifying the role of beach management units and boda boda operators as key actors in early warning and early response mechanisms at the community level.

        Al-Noor Women Group

          Al Noor Women Group is a women-led group working to build community resilience against radicalization and violent extremism in Msambweni sub-county.

          The group specifically is creating support systems for women victims of counter-terrorism. They are working with a group of 60 women, where they provide them with psychosocial support, and linkages to economic opportunities.

          Through inter-faith dialogues, Al-noor women group has linked young people with religious leaders, where they engage in discussions on alternative faith-based narratives to violent extremism
